A group of friends —a designer, a printer, curators, artists— met to "fill a gap." That simple was the beginning. We wanted to think, comment, share ideas about the processes of the photographic and audiovisual images in the contemporary art scene. We got to work, visited exhibitions, discussed approaches, and considered the pertinence of the purpose and its most disquieting issues. Thus arose About Images, a periodic publication with interviews, texts, and critical notes on the criteria of image editing, reproduction, exhibition, and conceptualization. Indeed, the intention of the project, which focuses on the active art community of South Florida, is broad but with a high potential based on the need for discernment and concrete reflection. We ask you to come and go along with us.
